Climate Change Asia (CCA)
Climate Change Asia (CCA) is a Program launched at the Asian Institute of Technology to meet the diverse range of capacity building needs required to pursue low carbon development and achieve climate resilient societies in Asia. The program is designed to support the recently adopted Paris Agreement and the 2030 Developmental Agenda. A key feature of the program is to develop capacities in Asia to prepare, finance, and implement ‘bankable’ climate change mitigation and adaptation projects.

The operation of CCA is overseen by the chair, vice chair and coordination committee which comprises of internationally known experts.
Geoinformatic Center
Geoinformatic center is dedicated to development and promotion of remote sensing research and activities in Asia-Pacific by sharing satellite data, research results and experiences with researchers in the region. Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are tools that provide immeasurable advantage in investigation of living environment in timely and cost effective manner enabling appropriate measures in sustainable management of natural resources and minimizing the environmental degradation. Advancement of these technologies contribute to daily activities of human being bringing in new dimension to one or the other aspect of social and economical development of individuals and societies. Images that bring detail information of your neighbors’ backyard are delivered to your doorstep through very high-resolution remote sensing images taken few hundred kilometers away from earth surface. Current GPS system provides sub-meter accuracy in location information and it would be further developed
to new era with upcoming positioning system from Russia and European Union augmenting present United States GPS. Integration of spatial data acquired from any source including current high-tech data generations methods or traditional data acquisition methods are supported by GIS systems enabling data integration in one hand and comprehensive data analysis capability as advance tools.
Recognizing the emerging importance of these technologies and the potential future demand for skilled professionals, GIS Application Center (GAC) was established in Asian Institute of Technology

AIT Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology
The Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology is jointly supported by Thailand’s Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC) and AIT, to cultivate and foster multidisciplinary activities including research and education in the applications of Nanotechnology in Developing World. Nanotechnology is an emerging technology. It is changing the world. It is the future but it is already “the now” – just use your cell phone and wonder how many small transistors are inside there to give all that the speed and capability. Besides electronics, applications abound in medicine, coatings, environment, sensors, agriculture, energy, and in many more areas. Please explore this exciting field with us.

Thailand Accident Research Center
The Accident Research Center is an offspring of MOTC’s Road Safety Master Plan acknowledging the lack of information on accidents in Thailand and the need to establish TARC. TARC provides academic back up and a base for road safety research.

AIT Solutions
AIT Solutions (AITS), formerly AIT Consulting, was established at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) with the aim to increase the application of science and technology for the socio-economic development in Asia and the global community. The mission of AIT Solutions concentrates on establishing higher scientific, engineering, and technological standards; developing innovative solutions; tackling challenging issues; and collaborating with public and private organizations through deeper and expanded engagement and delivery of AIT’s research, knowledge, and expertise.
By mobilizing a team from a pool of experts existing at the Institute, including internationally recognized faculty, experienced researchers, and talented alumni; AIT Solutions offers innovative solutions and new applications of expertise in Technology, Engineering, Environment, Development, and Management to deliver successful and sustainable strategies for a rapidly developing world.
INterlab
The concept of establishing a fixed location for the internet human resources development has been discussed and endorsed by leading Asia-Pacific Internet organizations at their AP*Retreat meeting at AIT in year 2000. Several leading research institutions in Asia-Pacific.Europe and the US have indicated their interests in forming up a network of support for intERLab research, training and education.
The core component of the laboratory will be on research activities. This will be achieved by maintaining excellent research facilities and staff, hosting visiting researchers and taking advantage of linkages with research laboratories worldwide. To accommodate the emerging impact of the Internet in development context, the laboratory will concentrate not only on technical issues but also on business and social aspects.
RRCAP
The Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) is an Institute-wide centre of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) that aims to bridge the gap between the scientific understanding of sustainable development processes and sound policies at national and regional levels.
Our goal is to provide resources for informed decision making and policy setting towards sustainable development, acting as a science-policy interface by regional networking, processing and assessing information and knowledge for governments, local communities and other stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region.
RRC.AP also serves as a Secretariat for several networks and Multilateral Environmental Agreements. In over 25 years of activity we have provided support for the development and implementation of national strategies and policies in several fields of sustainable development, strengthening the capacity of government environment agencies as well as non-state actors and stakeholders to address sustainable development through the environment window.
